Complaints & Corrections Policy
How to tell us we got something wrong, how we decide, and how corrections appear.
1. What this covers
- errors of fact in a Radar item, an article, an interview or the Fortnightly Intelligence Brief;
- complaints about how we behaved, or about whether we kept to our Editorial & Independence Policy;
- requests by an organisation or person named in our content to have their response considered, or objections to being named;
- concerns from publishers about how we summarise and link to their reporting;
- complaints about a member firm, which we handle under the Provider Membership Standard.
Complaints about how we handle personal data go to us under our Privacy Policy. You can also take them to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ) or, if you are in South Africa, to the Information Regulator.
2. How to tell us
E-mail info@cybersecurity-association.org with the subject line "Correction" or "Complaint". Please include: a link to the item, or its title and date; what you believe is wrong and, if you can, a source or other evidence; whether you are writing for an organisation or person concerned; and how we can reach you. You can also write to us at bodhi.style s.r.o., Americká 90/11, Jižní Předměstí, 301 00 Plzeň, Czech Republic.
3. What happens next
- We acknowledge your message within two business days.
- Complaints are handled by our Editorial Owner. Where the Editorial Owner was responsible for the item concerned, a Reviewing Director — a member of our management not involved in the item — handles the complaint instead.
- We tell you our decision and our reasons within ten business days, or explain why we need longer.
Fast track for named organisations and people. If you are named in an item and dispute its accuracy or object to being named, we assess the item within five business days. While we assess it, we may add a note that the item is disputed. Where the item is inaccurate, misleading or unfair, or where your interests outweigh the public interest in the item, we correct, anonymise or withdraw it.
We change what we published when it is inaccurate, misleading or unfair — not because it is unwelcome. If the original source corrects or withdraws its report, we update or withdraw the Radar item that relies on it.
4. How corrections appear
- Articles, interviews and briefings: a correction note at the end of the piece says what changed and when.
- Radar items: we correct or withdraw the item, mark it as corrected, and record the change in the corrections log on this page.
- The Fortnightly Intelligence Brief: the correction appears in the next issue.
- We fix obvious typing errors without a note. We never silently change the substance.
5. Right of reply
An organisation or person named in our content who disputes it may send us a short response. Where the response adds relevant facts, we reflect it in the item or publish it alongside, and say that we have done so.
6. Publishers
If you publish a source we summarise and have concerns about how we summarise or link to it, write to us. We respond within five business days and, where your concern is justified, adjust how we use your reporting.
7. If you are not satisfied
You can ask for our decision to be reviewed by a Reviewing Director, a member of our management who was not involved in the original decision. This does not affect any other right you have, including the right to complain to a data protection authority about the handling of personal data, or to take legal action. We also subscribe to the Press Code of the Press Council of South Africa (see our Editorial & Independence Policy).
8. Complaints about member firms
We cannot resolve contractual disputes between you and a provider, and we cannot award compensation. We do ask the member firm to respond, record the outcome, take it into account in the firm's periodic review, and we can suspend or end its membership under the Provider Membership Standard. Write to membership@cybersecurity-association.org.
9. Records we keep
We keep a record of each complaint, correction request and its outcome for 24 months after closure and use it to improve our work. The public corrections log is permanent. We may decline to engage with abusive or repetitive complaints, and will tell you if we do. How we handle your personal data in a complaint is described in our Privacy Policy.
